Abstract

Due to the specific of the factoring business nature, factoring institutions are particularly exposed to losses due to the unfairness of their business partners. The article deals with operational risk issues in factoring transactions. The moral and ethical aspects of the relationship between factoring transaction parties were presented. Ethical and moral dilemmas gain in importance, especially in situations when there is asymmetry of information between the factoring parties. The objectives of the study were to analyse indicators influencing the abuse of factoring, determining the impact of moral and ethical aspects on individual indicators, and to identify the weaknesses of particular indicators. The study presents parameters that affect to limit operational risk in factoring transactions. The author discusses use of particular indicators of abuse in an ethical and moral context.
