Zmiany paleośrodowiskowe w Polsce w późnym plenivistulianie, późnym vistulianie i na początku holocenu opisano na podstawie wyników badań osadów jaskiniowych i pozostałości fauny. Zróżnicowanie roślinności w czasie i przestrzeni udokumentowane w profilach palinologicznych zostało zestawione i zaprezentowane na kilku mapach. Pokazano i omówiono również zasięgi osadnictwa ludzkiego należącego do różnych kultur w okresie przedallerødzkim, w allerødzie i młodszym dryasie.
