Przyczyny zróżnicowania koluwiów południowo-zachodniej Anglii

Badania koluwiów w południowo-zachodniej Anglii wykazały znaczną zmienność ich cech fizycznych. Analiza 84 próbek pozwoliła ocenić wpływ materiału źródłowego (litologii podłoża skalnego) oraz procesów transportu (głównie soliflukcji) na właściwości osadów, takie jak: średni rozmiar ziaren, skośność, wysortowanie, kolor matrix, zaokrąglenie oraz orientacja klastów. Wykazano, że litologia istotnie wpływa na cechy osadu, natomiast w skali lokalnej dominują czynniki takie jak odległość transportu czy ekspozycja stoku. Wyniki wskazują na złożony proces formowania koluwiów, determinowany zarówno przez warunki litologiczne, jak i dynamiczne procesy peryglacjalne.
