Intensywność a czas trwania wietrzenia skał podłoża w warunkach peryglacjalnych w Kanadyjskiej Arktyce Wysokiej

Abstrakt

Dokonano rozróżnienia między intensywnością a czasem trwania wietrzenia skał podłoża na podstawie obserwacji terenowych zgromadzonych w różnych, rozproszonych lokalizacjach w kanadyjskiej Arktyce Wysokiej. Na przykładach omówiono wpływ mineralogii, tekstury, porowatości i struktury skał na mikropękanie i następującą po nim dezintegrację skał podłoża. Zasugerowano możliwość zachowania form peryglacjalnych, w tym rumowisk skalnych, pod lodowcami. Przedstawiono również inne czynniki wpływające zarówno na rozwój, jak i zachowanie form wietrzeniowych, takich jak ostańce i misy wietrzeniowe, w oparciu o obserwacje prowadzone w ciągu ostatnich czterech sezonów letnich.
