The aim of the article is to prove that the bodies founding medical entities have formal opportunities to execute oversight role which is part of good management practice. In the aspect of the New Public Management concept and corporate governance guidelines, formal provisions regarding the supervision of founding bodies were analyzed. Bearing in mind the public attitudes of entities in the health care sector, based on 10 case studies, particular attention was drawn to issues related to finance management, including the possibility of generating management information. As a result of a critical analysis of the legal regulations defining the scope of documents that form the basis for assessing the economic and financial situation of healthcare entities, the substantive need for their integration was indicated. However, the studies carried out in medical entities, taking into account the supervisory aspect, did not determine a relation between information generated by tools with management potential. As a reason, it is listed, inter alia too general character of the delegation regarding the possibility of creating information policy. Formally assigned to the founding bodies the supervision was not reflected in the documents analyzed for the needs of the study. Thus, it was determined that the founding authorities do not fully use their powers which would fulfill the essence of good management and would ensure the supervision of medical entities in terms of their efficiency.
