Abstract

The aim of this article is to demonstrate the impact of Special Economic Zones on the labor market’s situation expressed by the increase in employment. The subject of the study was the Special Economic Zones operating in Poland between 2010 and 2015. The analysis was conducted based on Information on the implementation of the Act on Special Economic Zones, which was published in the reports of the Ministry of Economy (2010-2014) and the Ministry of Development (2015).

The collected empirical material leads to the statement that, from the viewpoint of the local labor market in Poland, Special Economic Zones play a key role because the business entities operating in these zones increased the number of new workplaces in the years studied.
