Slope dynamics in the periglacial zone of the Tatra Mountains

Examples and research results from the periglacial zone of the Tatra Mountains were presented, indicating that the dynamics of the slopes in this zone is currently small. Periglacial processes play a significant role in the reconstruction of the slope relief, but the runoff processes on the slopes seem to be currently more important than the activity of periglacial processes. Intense downpours cause an increase in the intensity of the processes. Moreover, extreme, short-term rainfall causes the formation of new forms of relief. The role of periglacial processes is currently limited mainly to the reconstruction of the forms of relief.
