Gleby i powierzchnie geomorfologiczne na Antarktydzie

Abstrakt

Porównanie gleb i ich morfologii w nadbrzeżnej części Enderby Land z glebami obszarów wolnych od lodu (oaz) w Victoria Land i Queen Maud Land wykazało, że rozwój gleb postąpił znacznie dalej w Enderby Land. W luźnych osadach w Enderby Land powstają stosunkowo głębokie, intensywnie wybarwione, wilgotne profile glebowe z łatwo rozpoznawalną reorientacją cząstek. Nie odnotowano innych stanowisk o tak dobrze rozwiniętych glebach na tym kontynencie. Przedstawiono dowody wskazujące, że obecny klimat jest głównym czynnikiem kontrolującym pedogenezę. Chronologiczne datowanie powierzchni może być uzasadnione, jeśli parametry klimatyczne są porównywalne.
