In the High Andes, between 30° and 35° south latitude, periglacial features are extremely numerous. However, they were studied and described only by Corte (1953, 1955) and by the author. Between 1952 and 1956, many such features were documented. In the Andes of the Santiago region, all periglacial features occurring in unvegetated areas are observed, with the exception of tundra polygons and mounds with icy core, characteristic of colder climates, as well as debris flows, which occur in more humid climates. No involutions or other cryoturbative structures were observed.
