ORIGINAL TITLE: Zonalité des phénomènes périglaciaires en Antarctide
The article characterises the periglacial zone of Antarctica, focusing on physical and chemical weathering processes. Based on field observations, features such as polygonal ground, solifluction, exfoliation, weathering crusts and the presence of Fe, Mn and Ca compounds are described. These processes occur in both coastal zones and on nunataks above 1500 m a.s.l. The author defines this environment as a cold periglacial desert, drawing analogies with high-altitude regions of Central Asia.
