Abstract

Article in French.

ORIGINAL TITLE: Indices de gelivation recente et pleistocene en Israel

Near Jerusalem (at 750 m alt.) uncovered soil becomes frozen at times. In North Galilea some valley slopes are partly covered with a calcareous breccia, some 150 cm in thickness, which is composed of fragments of Eocene limestones. The breaking up of stones is probably caused by frost weathering.
