Wyniki badań paleobotanicznych nad eemskimi osadami z Józefowa na Wyżynie Łódzkiej

In Józefów, within the Łódź Upland, fossil lake sediments from the Eemian Interglacial and the last glacial period were identified. A sediment profile containing gyttja and peat was subjected to pollen and macroscopic analysis, revealing remains of Aldrovanda vesiculosa and megaspores of Selaginella selaginoides and Isoëtes lacustris. The pollen diagram reflects a typical Eemian vegetation succession. Initial birch-pine forests gradually transitioned into more thermophilous deciduous forests. Alnetum-like and Querceto-Carpinetum forests developed, and increasing humidity led to a rise in Picea and Abies. The final phase was dominated by open pine forests with Betula, with shallow oligotrophic lakes with Isoëtes lacustris.
