ORIGINAL TITLE: Réponses au questionnaire de la Commission de Géomorphologie Périglaciaire
The article analyses the concept of “periglacial” as a morphological system and the processes associated with frost, as well as the cyclical freezing and thawing of the soil. It discusses the relationships between the periglacial environment, permafrost and extraglacial phenomena, emphasising this environment’s occurrence beyond glacial areas. The article presents the influence of climatic factors on the development of periglacial environments and discusses the regionalisation and morphogenesis of these areas.
