Pomiary terenowe charakteru i tempa procesów peryglacjalnych

W marcu 1974 roku w ramach działalności Komitetu Koordynacyjnego ds. Badań Peryglacjalnych przeprowadzono ankietę dotyczącą bezpośrednich pomiarów terenowych procesów peryglacjalnych. Zebrano dane z 38 aktualnych lub niedawno zakończonych badań, głównie w górach strefy umiarkowanej oraz w Arktyce Kanadyjskiej. Najczęściej badane procesy to soliflukcja, pełzanie, pęcznienie mrozowe, rozwój klinów lodowych i pingo. Zwrócono uwagę na niedobór długoterminowych pomiarów i potrzebę standaryzacji metod. Brakuje też badań nad procesami fluwialnymi, eolicznymi i wpływem działalności człowieka.
