Kriopedymenty w obszarach kredowych południowej Anglii

Kriopedymenty, w odróżnieniu od teras krioplanacyjnych, występują w krajobrazach kredowych południowej Anglii. Przyjmują formę wyjątkowo łagodnych, wklęsłych stoków u podnóża bardziej stromych, południowo-zachodnio nachylonych zboczy asymetrycznych suchych dolin. Są to zasadniczo stoki transportowe, powstałe w wyniku równoległego cofania się górnych, bardziej stromych partii stoków w warunkach dawnych procesów kriogenicznych. Ich zachowanie w obrębie suchych dolin na podłożu kredowym tłumaczy się brakiem współczesnej erozji fluwialnej, podczas gdy w obrębie innego, mniej przepuszczalnego podłoża, formy te zostałyby szybko zniszczone.
