Asymetryczna budowa suchych dolin kredowych w południowej Anglii jest omawiana na przykładzie niektórych dolin w obrębie Chiltern Hills. Peryglacjalne pochodzenie asymetrii nie jest kwestionowane. Zamiast tego zaproponowano model rozwoju asymetrycznych stoków i dolin, w którym podkreśla się znaczenie procesów fluwialnych zachodzących w warunkach peryglacjalnych. Przedstawiono również pewne implikacje dotyczące genezy suchych dolin kredowych. Twierdzi się, że chociaż większe doliny można tłumaczyć hipotezą wód gruntowych, zakładającą stopniowe obniżanie się ich zwierciadła w trakcie plejstocenu, to okresy peryglacjalne sprzyjały: (a) asymetrycznej modyfikacji stoków już istniejących dolin oraz (b) powstawaniu dolin i niecek peryglacjalnych na zamarzniętym wówczas podłożu.
